Aren’t sure if the bad behaviors you’re experiencing at work amount to bullying?

This self-test is designed to help you identify whether you’re dealing with a bully by evaluating the behaviors, their frequency and severity, to help you put the behaviors into context.

Gather the insight to distinguish between disrespectful behaviors like nasty communications and rudeness—and the intentional, manipulative mistreatment of a bully.

You will respond to 10 typical bullying behaviors. As you work down the list, decide how much each one is true for you. When you are finished, add up your score.

Strongly Disagree = 1
Disagree = 2
Agree = 3
Strongly Agree = 4

At the end of the test, you’ll know whether there’s a bully in your midst or not.

If your score is 19 or below, you’re experiencing disrespectful behavior, but it hasn’t reached the point of bullying. That doesn’t mean you should ignore the problem!

If your score is between 20 and 29, there are signs of bullying behavior. Given the presence of a bullying pattern, now is the time to formulate and activate a plan of action to stop the escalation of the problem.

If your score is 30 or above, you are being bullied. You must take action - there are many impactful, low-risk things you can do. You’re neither powerless nor alone!

As you would expect, the higher the score, the more serious the problem
